The craft market is widely
renowned for its diversity of creative expression, mainly represented
via souvenir outlets, fashion stores, and the various cottage
craft industries around the world.
After many years of working with our clients, Packer Leather has
engineered a special vegetable tanning process designed to enhance
the unique characteristics of the leather with the needs of the
craft market in mind.
The core products stocked in our retail outlet are K-Whip and K-Craft.
K-Whip
K-Whip is Packer Leather's premium quality kangaroo leather suitable
for whip making, braiding, and leathergoods manufacture. Packer Leather whip leather is preferred by Hollywood prop contractors and was used exclusively in whips provided for all four of the Indiana Jones movies, and the Mask of Zorro. It is available in five colours:

K-Craft
K-Craft is a lightly finished, low sheen Kangaroo leather suitable
for use in craftwork, bookbinding and jewelry making. It is available

K-Bookbinding
Packer Leather produces some of the finest bookbinding leathers using premium lightweight Kangaroo leather. We produce K-Bookbinding leather in a standard organic wattle process, or a traditional tannage designed with longer lasting properties.
- Standard colour range includes Black, Natural, Brandy, Burgundy and Navy.
- Standard thickness is 0.5-0.7mm.

Classical Kraft
Recently developed, Classical Kraft is a semi drum-stuffed organically tanned lightweight Kangaroo leather that possesses excellent glazing properties.
Ideally suited to be used in Small goods, Bags, and Accessory type leather goods, Classical Kraft also features fine braiding qualities.
- Standard colour range includes Black, Saddle Tan and Whiskey
- Standard thickness is 0.5-0.7mm.
- Available in a Glazed or non-Glazed finish.

Kangaroo Fur skins
Packer Leather produces a chrome tanned fur along with a bark tanned fur made from Kangaroo skins.
Chrome tanned fur is typically used in the production of jackets, cuffs, collars and linings of high fashion garments, along with certain styles of comfort footwear. Bark tanned fur is mainly produced for floor mats, decorative art, soft toys and souvenirs.
Chrome Tanned Fur:
- Available in a Red species Kangaroo, exhibiting a very soft leather base and a fine rur that highlights a natural blend of red and blue tints.
- Average size range: 4.5-7sqft.
- Selection: A,B,C grades

Bark Tanned Fur:
- Available in both a Red and Grey species Kangaroo.
- Average size range: 5-7 sqft.
- Available in drum loads only or purchased individually through Packer Leathers retail shop.

Red hide
Using premium grade Australian hides, Packer Leather produces an Authentic Red hide leather specifically designed for Whip making.
Engineered on an Alum tanned process and hand greased for a consistent finish, this leather is highly regarded within the Whip making industry of Australia.

- Average size range: 21- 27 sqft
- Available in a premium, standard and lower grade selection
Natural Embossing
Packer Leather is renowned by the local craft industry for producing a superior embossing leather. Available in multiple thicknesses, this product responds well to tooling the grain, and is particularly good for moulding shapes. This leather comes in a natural russet colour.
