K-Athletic Leather is a super performance milled soft nappa, generally with a matt appearance. The leather exhibits a very fine natural break, and offers extremely high tensile
strength with superlightweight properties, unparalleled by any other leather substrate on the market.
In addition, the K-Athletic leather product has been technically engineered to
incorporate a number of
smart technologies, featuring high-levels of water resistance, perspiration
(sweat) resistance and a dry-soft tanning process.
These features ensure that
the leather stays soft and supple after the prolonged effects of wet conditions.
The finishing (coating) system is a completely aqueous system and employs
only “green” based chemical products.
Of note is our secret Packer Leather
developed cross-linking system, which is not based on the traditional
questionable products (e.g. aziridine, isocyanate, etc) as used by other major
tanneries around the world.
Furthermore, K-Athletic leather can be produced
in any colours or effect desired, including metallic and pearlised finish
applications to provide the worlds leading athletic footwear designers with endless choice and design possibilities.
Other Packer Leather technologies such as DurateK, MicrobloK, Kool, Konstant and others can all be added to the K-Athletic product.
